Owain Arwel Davies B.Mus PGCE- Conductor

In 2001, Owain Arwel returned to his roots in the Ogwen valley, and settled in Tregarth. His mother, Eluned Davies, was brought up at Bronnydd Farm, Llanllechid, before moving to Betws-y-Coed, where Arwel's grandmother, the late Mrs Gwen Owen ran a Bed & Breakfast business. Brought up in Penrhyn Bay near Llandudno, Arwel attended Ysgol y Creuddyn, and along with his father, Arfon Davies, was a member of the Maelgwn male voice choir, conducted by Davey Jones.
His interests and musical commitments range from being a member and manager of one of Wales' most successful brass bands - Beaumaris Senior Brass Band and former lead trombonist with the National Youth Brass Band of Wales and the Welsh Ensemble - to regular performances with some of Wales' leading Rock bands - Anweledig, Mim Twm Llai and Geraint Lovgreen to name but a few.
In 1999 he graduated with honours from the School of Music, University of Wales, Bangor before undertaking a teacher training course and then appointed Head of Music at Ysgol y Moelwyn in the year 2000, where he has enjoyed much success with various school choirs, and notably his recent production of 'Prima Dona' where a chorus of 130 staged a memorable performance.
He was appointed Conductor of the Penrhyn Male Voice Choir in spring 2004 following the decision of former conductor, Mary S. Jones to pursue her musical career in the United States.

Fran Davies M.A., B.Mus., PGCE- Accompanist

Brought up in Dihewyd, Cardiganshire, Fran teaches English to foreign children at Ysgol Cae Top, Bangor and to more mature students at Coleg Menai.

She was victorious in the solo piano recital competitions both at the National Eisteddfod in Machynlleth and the Urdd national at Pwllheli.

Fran is a life member, Music Ovate, of the Eisteddfod Gorsedd. Her bardic name being Frances Dalis
