Eleni daeth newid yn y drefn gyda Mike, a’i deulu, yn penderfynnu dechrau’r daith yn swyddfa’r Wifern Wîb, neu “Zip World” yma ym Methesda. Cerddodd dros 500 o bobl i, ac o amgylch, Llyn Idwal, cyn cerdded yn ôl i Chwarel y Penrhyn i gael eu diddanu, ac ymuno gyda dyrfa o dros 500 arall, gan gerddorion amrywiol, o Gymru a thu hwnt.

I’r bwrlwm hwn bu’r côr yn ffodus iawn o gael gwahoddiad i ganu, a hynny nid yn unig ar ben ein hunain, ond gyda chôr o blant ysgolion y fro, a gyda’r seren ei hun, Mike Peters. Fe ddysgodd y côr fersiynnau Saesneg a Cymraeg o gân Mike, sef “Cariad, Gobaith a Nerth” ar gyfer y perfformiad.

Yn dilyn ein perfformiad, a thra ‘roedd aelodau’r côr yn dod oddiar y llwyfan, fe gyhoeddodd arweinydd y noson, Gareth “Gaz Top” Jones, bod person yn dod lawr y wifren wîb, a hynny oedd gyda dyn “stunt” proffesiynol, gyda mwg yn byrlymu tu ôl iddo, yn dod lawr y wifren, cyn gollwng ei hyn i ffwrdd, agor ei barasiwt, a gostwng ei hun yn ddiogel i’r llyn yn y twll chwarel cyn cael ei godi gan gwch.

Fe ranodd y côr y llwyfan yn ystod y diwrnod gyda:

The Storyville Mob

Third Generation (sydd yn cynnwys dau fab Mike Peters)

Maffia Mr Huws (da oedd eu gweld y band hwn yn ôl yn eu cynefin a chafwyd set gwefreiddiol ganddynt)

Band Pres Llaregub

Mike Peters

Ac i orffen y noson, band o’r 70au “Slade”

Y teimlad ymysg y dorff, a’r trefnwyr, oedd bod y diwrnod wedi bod yn lwyddiant ysgubol, ac y bydd yr wyl yn dod yn ddigwyddiad blynyddol

It’s over a decade ago when Mike Peters (the “Alarm” vocalist) was discovered to have a Leukemia, since the discovery Mike, along with his wife Jules, who has also suffered breast cancer treatment and with the support of people from all over the country, have walked annually to the summit of Snowdon to collect money for the charity, established by both, “Love, Hope and Strength”, following the walk a concert would be held in Llanberis to Around 700 people.

This year there was a change in the procedure with Mike, and his family, deciding to start the trip at Zip World office, here in Bethesda. Over 500 people walked to and around Llyn Idwal, before walking back to Penrhyn Quarry to be entertained, and joining a crowd of over 500, by various musicians, from Wales and beyond.

To this end, the choir was very fortunate to have an invitation to sing, not only on our own, but with a choir of school children in the area, and with the star himself, Mike Peters. The choir learned English and Welsh versions of Mike’s song, “Love, Hope and Strength” for the performance.

Following our performance, and as the choir members left the stage, the leader of the night, Gareth “Gaz Top” Jones, announced that a person would down the zip wire, and a professional “stunt” man, with a smoke billowing behind him, came down the wire, before dropping off it, opening his parachute, and dropping himself safely into the lake in the quarry before being rescued by a boat.

The choir shared the stage during the day with:

The Storyville Mob

Third Generation (which includes two sons of Mike Peters)

Mr Huws’s Maffia (it was good to see this band back in their habitat and they had an exciting set)

Llaregub Brass Band

Mike Peters

And to finish the night, the band from the 70s “Slade”

The feeling amongst the audience, and the organizers, was that the day had been a huge success, and that the festival would be an annual event
